System Design and Documentation Samples

The following are samples of documentation from games and apps I've designed the systems, UX and other aspects for:

Application Design Document Sample [System Design, UX Design]

This is an excerpt from a Design Document for an app that allowed users to create and complete missions in the real world. The intention of this design document was to communicate the design of the application in an easily readable way, void of technical details. I was responsible for the design of the app.

System Design Document Sample [System Design, UX Design]

This is an excerpt from a System Design document for an app that encompassed the usage of an end user phone app interacting with physical installations for transactions and security access. The intention of this system design document was to communicate to the programmer and as such is technical and meticulous. I was also responsible for the design of the app.

Game Design Document Sample [Game Design, Lore, World Building]

This is the Game Design Document for Nomad. I was the Lead Designer on that project and as such was responsible for the systems, world and level design of the project. This was a living document that was updated throughout the project's life cycle.

Scrum Worksheet Sample [Project Management, Excel/Spreadsheet]

This spreadsheet was used to track tasks using the scrum method on the game Computer Ships. I was the Project Lead, and would adjust teammate's workloads and project scope based on teammate's and the team's progression respectively.

PowerPoint Presentation Sample [Presentation, Pitch]

This PowerPoint presentation was used to present Computer Ships to the professor, the class, and others. It showed the current state of development, and milestones for the next 10 weeks of development for the project. It was also used as a recruitment tool to gather new teammates.

Level Design Map Example [Level Design, Photoshop]

This is the Map Layout for Nomad's Level Design. It is designed to teach players to the mechanics of the game. The player starts off at the broken bridge, falling through it, then progressing to the right through the temple. There he picks up the first power and is now able to puzzle solve and traverse, and eventually to cross the bridge and go back to his village on the left.
